Hongqi has opened pre-sales for its HS6 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), priced between $25,200 and $32,200. The HS6 distinguishes itself with a record-breaking range, verified by Guinness World Records: a two-wheel-drive model covered 2,327 kilometers (1,446 miles) without refueling. This positions the HS6 as a leader in long-distance electric driving.
Performance and Range
The HS6 PHEV comes in multiple trims, offering CLTC-rated pure electric ranges of 145 km, 220 km, or 240 km. Equipped with a 1.5T engine paired with one or two electric motors (depending on the trim), the HS6 delivers a combined system power of either 168 kW (225 hp) or 369 kW (495 hp) for the four-wheel-drive version.
The vehicle’s long range is supported by two battery pack options: 23.9 kWh or 39.5 kWh. These provide a maximum CLTC-rated comprehensive range of up to 1,650 km. The larger battery supports 4C fast charging, allowing a 20% to 80% recharge in just 15 minutes. The HS6 also boasts a thermal efficiency of up to 45.21% from its 1.5T engine.
Spacious Design and Practicality
The HS6 is a medium-to-large 5-seater SUV with dimensions of 4,925 mm (length) x 1,970 mm (width) x 1,740 mm (height) and a 2,925 mm wheelbase. The trunk provides 503 liters of standard capacity, expanding to 1,977 liters with the rear seats folded down. An additional 49 liters of storage space is available under the trunk floor.
Exterior color options include black, white, silver, and gray.
Cutting-Edge Interior Features
The HS6’s interior is dominated by a dual 15.6-inch screen setup for the central control and passenger entertainment. The system is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip and includes a built-in AI large language model for voice assistance.
Other luxury features include a heated D-shaped steering wheel with a dual-color design, a 30-inch AR-HUD (augmented reality head-up display), and heated/ventilated seats throughout the cabin. The co-pilot seat features an electric leg rest with a 173-degree adjustment angle.
The HS6 also includes a Dynaudio sound system, a 1.38 m² panoramic sunroof, and a 6-liter in-car refrigerator with remote control via an app. The refrigerator maintains temperatures between 2°C and 50°C.

The HS6 achieves a top speed of 205 km/h and a combined fuel consumption of just 0.4 L/100 km.
