Geely is officially taking orders for its new E2 electric hatchback across Europe. And they aren’t messing around with the price tag. The entry-level model starts at 19,490 euros. That is roughly $22,490.
Reservations opened first in Belgium. If you want one of these, expect deliveries to begin in September. But why start there? Probably because it’s a testing ground. The E2 undercuts the BYD Dolphin Surf right out of the gate.
How much does the Geely E2 cost in Europe?
Let’s talk numbers because that’s what matters here. Geely Europe’s sales director, Eris Yahsi, dropped the standard price at 21,490 euros ($24,800). Standard, that is.
There is an intro offer. It slaps 2,000 euros off the top. So you can grab one for 19,490. The discount is valid for now. No expiration date was specified, but these things don’t last forever.

It’s a simple structure. Low friction. Easy to understand.
Why is Geely selling this in Belgium?
The car itself isn’t new. In China, it goes by the Geely Xingyuan. Or the EX2 in other export markets. But in its home market, it’s a monster.
It was the best-selling car in China in 2025. 465,775 sold. Just last year, it dominated the first half of 2026 with nearly 200,000 units. That is serious volume.
Geely didn’t just stumble into Europe. They planned this. Back in July, they confirmed the Xingyuan would arrive as the E2. But the price? That stayed hidden until August. Now we know. And the price is a weapon.
Who is the real competition?
The Geely E2 is targeting the small electric segment. It’s direct.
In Belgium, the BYD Dolphin Surf starts at 20,47 euros ($23,63). That’s more expensive than the discounted Geely. Even the Renault 5, with all its heritage and buzz, starts at 24,9 euros ($28,73).
So where does the E2 sit? Solidly below them. It’s not just a cheaper option. It’s a significantly cheaper option with comparable specs.
The market position is clear. If you want an EV in Europe and budget is the constraint, this car is now in the frame.
What are the Geely E2 specifications?
It’s a compact hatchback. Dimensions matter here.
Length: 4135 mm. Width: 1805 mm. Height: 1580 mm.
Wheelbase? 2,650 mm. That’s decent legroom for a small car. Weight varies between 1,29 kg and 1365 kg depending on trim. It rides on 16-inch wheels. Standard issue.
Storage is where it gets interesting. You get a 375-liter trunk. And a 70-liter front trunk. A frunk. In an entry-level electric hatchback? That’s a nice touch.
Inside, it’s modern. A 14.6-inch infotainment screen is standard. Heated seats. Seven airbags. Multi-link rear suspension. Not many cars in this price bracket give you multi-link rear. Most use torsion beams. This feels like more car than the sticker suggests.
Is it worth buying?
Maybe.
The E2 undercuts the main rivals by over a grand in some cases. That’s not pocket change. For a Chinese bestseller with proven domestic sales numbers, it’s a bold entry into a crowded European market.
If you’re waiting for the next big EV revolution, you’ll have to look elsewhere. This is practical. It’s priced for volume. It’s ready for September.
